TEAM NEWS
Aston Villa skipper Stiliyan Petrov is back. The Bulgaria international missed Sunday's goalless draw at Swansea with a hamstring problem but has resumed training. Fellow midfielder Stephen Ireland is also in contention after missing the trip to Wales with a foot injury suffered in training. Defender Eric Lichaj (hip) remains the only long-term casualty.
Dimitar Berbatov will miss Manchester United's trip to Aston Villa with an ankle injury picked up in the midweek Carling Cup defeat by Crystal Palace. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said the Bulgaria striker's injury is not serious but also revealed Brazilian twins Rafael and Fabio da Silva - who also picked up knocks against Palace - will miss out. Danny Welbeck is a doubt with a muscle strain while Anderson (knee), Michael Owen (thigh) and Tom Cleverley (ankle) are longer-term absentees.
MANAGER QUOTES
Alex McLeish: "Why can't we beat them this weekend? This is a brilliant challenge for the players. But they shouldn't be putting Manchester United players on a pedestal. They have to realise these guys have two legs just like us. There will be a day when Villa beat Manchester United at home again - so why can't it be this weekend? To win a game like this would do wonders for everybody's confidence and would be a big fillip for the fans."
Sir Alex Ferguson: "The atmosphere is good there, the fans are close to the touchline and we've done well at Villa. Every time we've gone there, we've had to play well to win and we need to do that tomorrow."
