Central midfield is once again a concern for Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish. Jay Spearing, who was expected to provide the long-term replacement for Lucas Leiva after the Brazilian's season was ended by a cruciate knee ligament, begins a three-match suspension after his red card at Fulham on Monday. Captain Steven Gerrard is still recovering from an ankle infection so Jordan Henderson could start in his favoured central position, although the in-form Jonjo Shelvey has continued to impress following his recall from a loan spell at Blackpool.
QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt will undergo a fitness test. Taarabt has a thigh strain and is a doubt for the trip to Anfield. Matt Connolly (ankle), Kieron Dyer (foot) and DJ Campbell (foot) returned to training this week and have an outside chance of being involved.

Kenny Dalglish: "People find it difficult to play against [Luis Suarez]. If they cannot beat him on the pitch because of his ability, they will try to get into people's minds - and that's what they try to do. The people that have any favour towards Liverpool Football Club will get right behind Luis Suarez and give him all of the support he deserves. We are lucky that he is a fantastic footballer, one every other club would love to have in their side, and he is playing for us so we'll help him as much as he can."
Neil Warnock: "In years gone by it would have been fear and trepidation, but I don't see it like that anymore. It's more about the thrill of going to a club like Liverpool, with a team that can give a good account of themselves. That's what I'm hoping we can do. I hope that we play as well as we can and we won't go there to sit back, because you'll be beaten anyway if you try to do that. We're going to try and give them a game."
